Metrode E8018W2 1NiCu.B Atmospheric Corrosion Resistance Steels 2.5mm (4.3kg/Pkt)
PRODUCT ENQUIRY
Description
Metrode E8018W2 electrode with a basic flux, metal powder type coating on low carbon mild steel core wire. Moisture
resistant coating giving very low weld metal hydrogen levels.
E8018W2 (E 8018 – W2) is a specially designed low hydrogen, moisture resistance copper bearing corrosion resistance electrode for low alloy, weathering–type structural steels. Excellent weldability in all positions. Easy slag removal, finely rippled smooth weldbead.
E8018W2 low hydrogen type electrode which exhibites high crack resistibility and superior notch toughness of depositing weld metal. It is suitable for welding comparatively thick plates of weather proof steel. The mechanical properties of the weld metal is good.

3 hermetically sealed ring-pull metal tins per carton, with unlimited shelf life. Direct use from tin will give
hydrogen < 5ml/100g weld metal during 8h working shift.
For electrodes that have been exposed:
Redry 250 – 300°C/1-2h to ensure H2 < 10ml/100g, 300-350ºC/1-2h to ensure H2< 5ml/100g. Maximum 420°C,
3 cycles, 10h total.
Storage of redried electrodes at 100 – 200°C in holding oven or 50-150ºC in heated quivers:: no limit, but
maximum 6 weeks recommended. Recommended ambient storage conditions for opened tins (using plastic lid): <
60% RH, > 18°C.
