Chemtools ChemTig™ Detecting Developer CT-DVP-300 ChemTig™ Detecting Developer consists of a white powder suspended in solvents. It is applied as a final coating after surfaces have been prepared with ChemTig™ Prep-Solv Metal Cleaner & Degreaser, and ChemTig™ Red Dye Penetrant, whereby it develops and reveals microscopic cracks and flaws by pulling the entrapped penetrant to the surface by capillary action. Detecting Developer is recommended for weld seam quality assurance, and is vital for detecting non-visible hair-line cracks in pressure vessels and tanks, engine blocks and automotive parts, valves and pipes, and lifting devices.
